Layman, the Virginia Court of Appeals ruled that the trial court erred in classifying as marital property the one-half interest in real estate appellant inherited during the marriage where using separate property to secure a loan which is used for marital purposes and is subsequently repaid in full using marital funds does not transmute the pledged property into marital property.
